APBF meeting with German Ambassador H.E. Bernhard Schlagheck

APBF President Mr. Syed Maaz Mahmood, Secretary General Mr. Khurram Niaz Khan and Mr. Amir Munir President Lahore Board had an interactive meeting with the German Ambassador H.E. Bernhard Schlagheck at his office. APBF President Mr. Syed Maaz Mahmood briefed H. E. about the the efforts and initiatives being taken by APBF to increase bilateral trade and people to people contact. He said that there are tons of opportunities to facilitate B2Bs between Germany and Pakistan. Khurram Niaz Secretary General APBF further briefed that APBF and Germany are working on the same lines already and we look forward to partner with each other for B2Bs, JVs, technology transfer, people to people contact, skills work force development and migration to Germany as per requirement, delegation hosting from both sides as APBF May facilitate German business delegations to take them to right match making according to segment and sectors and vice versa by German Embassy for Pakistan Business community. H. E. Bernhard appreciated APBF and assured his full commitment to strengthen ties between two countries and accepted APBF invitation to meet APBF along with serious business community in Lahore. Mr. Amir President Lahore Board being COO Of DB Schenker a German company told Excellency that cooperation should be focused on desired segments and sectors with Excellency to streamline working between our two offices through exhibitions, fairs and regular interaction to make this partnership a great success.

President APBF Mr. Maaz sincerely thanked and appreciated the efforts and support of Government of Germany and its people to Pakistan, especially GIZ LSP Program who has done serious efforts while engaging all the relevant stake holders along with private sector and business community to bring level of labor standards as per international recommendations. The partnership of Germany along with European Union to provide technical education and vocational training and skills work force development to our youth is commendable as we have seen remarkable progress on TVET as it could be a game changer for Pakistan in near future for a prosperous Pakistan.

Mr. Maaz said that sincere intention of H. E. Bernhard to work with APBF in the areas of increasing the bilateral trade, joint ventures, B2Bs and transfer of technology from Germany to Pakistan is really heartfelt and encouraging. Excellency thanked APBF for meeting and doing great job to make Pakistan a prosperous and self reliant country.
